OUR PHILOSOPHY

The Learning Centre can be regarded as a specialist, complementary educational service. We are often used to help those pupils who have not responded to in-school literacy intervention programmes.

About us

The Bloomfield Learning Centre is a specialist assessment and teaching unit for 6-16 year olds with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties.

Our School

We are a registered charity in receipt of no government funding.

The Centre is managed by a head teacher supported by a board of directors. There are 6 further part-time teachers.

Teachers at the Centre are amongst the best qualified and most experienced dyslexia specialists in London. They are all RSA and Sounds Write trained. They all have personal experience of dyslexia.

Based at Guy's Hospital the teachers have the back up of professionals in the fields of child development, psychology and psychiatry.

Once functional literacy skills have been attained, some pupils continue to require ongoing support with writing, memory skills, essay planning, study and organisational skills. We are able to provide support up to GCSE level .
